The assembly elections are being held in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir after a gap of 10 years. While the first phase of voting was conducted on September 18, the electorate is going to polls in the second phase on September 25.

Election Commission of India on Aug 16, 2024, announced three phased assembly elections from Sept 18 to Oct 1, 2024, in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) as ordered by the apex court of India. 87.09 lakh total electors in J&K’s 90 Assembly constituencies will participate in these elections.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday promised to restore statehood to Jammu & Kashmir. Speaking at an election campaign rally in Katra in the Reasi district, he also accused the Opposition of trying to bring back bloodshed in Kashmir by reversing the abrogation of Article 370.

Polling for the 90 assembly seats in Haryana will be held on October 5 and counting will be held on October 8. It is a crucial time for the voters to decide which party to vote for and for the undecided/discontented voters, there is an option of choosing NOTA, or "None of the Above".
